Urban Vibe

Over the past three years, we have accumulated a large variety of videos, from interviews, highlights, social dances, and performances. We have been entertained by the likes of Al "Liquid Silver" Espinoza, Oliver Pineda and Luda Kroitor, Tropical Gem, Santo Rico, and many others. Each week (or two) we will profile a selection of videos, ranging from the very popular to the rarely seen.

This week we feature Urban Vibe from Chicago. Led by Jorge Alvarez and Pablo Rivera, the dance company grew from a two man duo into a team of talented artists that have toured all over the U.S. We first watched them make the semifinals of the team division at the the 2007 World Salsa Championships with an incredible performance. We caught up with them at the 2008 Chicago Salsa Congress, and were lucky enough to see them once again at Philly Jam 3 in early 2009 (with members Pablo, Louis, Jose, Kathleen, and Rachel).
